Go Desktop Help

Introduction

Go Desktop is a free program for remotely accessing computers. It consists of a server, to allow others access, and a client, to connect to other computers. If you have install or setup programs, please ask them on the forum rustyspigot.com.

What address do I connect to?

Each computer on the internet is assigned a seperate IP address. It is this number which is displayed in Go Desktop. However, on some connections this address will change each time you connect to the internet. To avoid such inconvenience you can use a service such as dyndns.com.

Is Go Desktop secure?

Go Desktop encrypts passwords but other data is sent in the open: hence it should not be used if a secure connection is required. In that situation, you should consider a program such as GoToMyPc.

How does Go Desktop work?

Go Desktop consists of two parts: A client to control remote computers (based on VNC Sharp) and a server to allow other computers to control it (based on Real VNC).

What License is Go Desktop released under?

The GPL.
